DaniGoldberg

Dani Goldberg

Dani was introduced to yoga 20 years ago while living in Oakland, California. Without knowing much about yoga, and finding herself back on the east coast, she knew she wanted more of it. Dani came from a background as a makeup artist, living a very fast paced lifestyle. Yoga calmed her and took her down a few notches. When Dani began connecting what she learned on the mat to her daily life, she began exploring all styles of yoga, sharing with others what she was learning, she finally found herself enrolled in Teacher Training. It was love and first sight when she stepped into her first Iyengar class and felt blessed that it lead her to Christopher Ray Mankowski, her teacher, guide, and mentor. Dani credits him for the teacher she became and will continue to become. Dani blends her passions into every class by incorporating Iyengar, and Ashtanga, and Baptiste flow by using intelligent direction, and props. She has developed a creative approach when using props setting students up to make simple poses become more intense, or less accessible postures more accessible. With a firm understanding how to bring different approaches as well as different sensations to the posture.

Whether you are just starting your practice or an advanced practitioner, Dani’s goal is to make you laugh, learn, and leave with a sense of accomplishment. Without ego, Dani passes along the teachings that have been so graciously passed along to her, knowing the reward is that the teaching lives on and on and on.

Dani received her 200 hr RYT from Garden State Yoga and 300-hr RYT from Christopher Ray Mankowski yoga studio. She is a seasoned Honor Yoga 200-hour lead trainer and mentor.

Yoga’s growth has been staggering over the recent years. The facts show that one in three Americans have tried yoga at least once. This module is designed to meet the growing need. With more new students on the yoga mat, the result is a greater need for studios to offer beginner classes, more new students in intermediate to advanced classes, and far greater diversity in one room. This module will develop teachers’ abilities to create an inclusive classroom environment when new students enter a mixed-level class, as well as confidently lead a whole group of beginners. During the first day teachers will learn common beginner mentalities and how to approach, common physical limitations, how to adapt postures, understand the hallmarks of a beginner sequence and create sequences, as well as learn how to improvise and adapt a sequence for a mixed-level group. Through a process of identifying and refining current language and gestures that may be unconsciously eliciting boundaries rather than sincere inclusion, teachers will participate in exercises to accurately sensitize cues and gestures to be inviting, inclusive and compassionate to all humans. The second day will allot time to put theory into action by inviting new students to attend for teachers to teach and receive feedback.

The Working with Beginners module accounts for 15- hours of the Honor Yoga 300-Hour program. You can take this alone, or apply this to the hours toward your HY 300-hour TT. For students applying the hours to Honor Yoga’s 300-Hour Program, you will be required to complete all remaining modules over a 3-year period.
