The practice of yoga continues to grow in popularity day by day, drawing students who inhabit a variety of different embodied forms and lived experiences seeking instruction, healing, and transformation. As yoga teachers, we have a great responsibility to understand the importance of creating a safe, accessible, and inclusive space for all bodies, sizes, ages, races, sexualities, gender identities, and abilities. In this training, Megan will teach you how to refine your teaching in a way that respects individual uniqueness while still acknowledging universal oneness. Students will leave the training with the remembrance that every body is a yoga body and knowledge of how to treat each body as such. Areas of learning will include actively inclusive cueing, offering variations for different physicalities with sensitivity and kindness, accessibility in virtual spaces, and self-reflective questioning such as, “Should I really be making statements like, ‘I’m not the teacher for everyone?”
This training is for any yoga teacher, especially those faced with the challenge of creating a virtual community.
