Lead Yogi: Susan Favale

Just a small town girl from Binghamton NY. From a young age Susan enjoyed playful movement through cheerleading and creative expression through art. Being fully artistic by nature, Susan’s passion for the arts brought her to NYC to follow her heart in fashion design, first attending The School of Visual Arts and then F.I.T. Susan used her creativity designing clothing on 7th avenue for many years before expanding into painting murals for businesses and homes. Her work schedule required travel during the year bringing her to discover the importance of quiet time, which opened the door to yoga. Discovering Ashtanga yoga in 2000, Susan began to explore this multi faceted practice in a more deeply manner and decided to combine her love for movement and passion for arts by enrolling in her first yoga teacher training. She is now 500 hour certified in yoga. Susan is also certified in Aerial Yoga, Suspension Fitness, Barre, Acro, Reiki and Thai massage. Not ready to stop Susan is enrolled in IOLee, a total well being Ayurvedic program through the Mindful Connection Institute to be developed as an Ayurvedic psychophysiological lifestyle coach. Her joy and passion for yoga are palpable and infectious. Susan’s style is creative in sequencing bringing together asana, philosophy and mindfulness while encouraging students to break through their perceived limitations both on and off the mat. Susan has always been active in giving her time to a cause including Embrace Kids Foundation, Honor Yoga Foundation, and Antonia Maria Foundation, where she is able to utilize her practices from her Y12SR and Yoga 4 Sobriety trainings. She continues to bring mindfulness into schools and corporations as her path has lead her to the many spiritual and mental benefits of a well-rounded yoga practice. Susan has lead a roundtable for the last 3 years at the Women’s Leadership Summit in NJ and continues to lead a 200 hour yoga teacher training with 4 successful years graduated. With all her experiences nothing has inspired her as much as the practice of Service, for it is in those moments that she has discovered the essence of a pure life. It is through gratitude that she taps into the sense of inner calm and self-acceptance, and she encourages her students to do the same.
