Yin Yoga Teaching Program Level 1 with Ellen Mosko

The first of a 2-part series, this training, for both yoga teachers and experienced Yin practitioners, is geared to deepen knowledge of the benefits, structure and subtle body effects of an ongoing still practice. At the moment of trauma our arousal system (sympathetic and parasympathetic) is impacted moving us into hyperarousal or hypoarousal. We are wired to automatically engage our animal defenses which are fight, flight, freeze, submit or attach to help us survive. Trauma sensitive yoga aims to cultivate awareness of the mind-body connection and build self-regulation skills to address the ways in which trauma is held in the body.

Level 2: Deepening Practices With-Yin: The second of a 2-part series, this 12-hour intensive training, for Yin practitioners and Teachers, is geared to discuss the more internal aspects of a Yin Practice. The basic foundation of the poses will not be covered with the same amount of detail as Level 1. Yin yoga practice encourages balance in the physical, mental and emotional and realms. The long-held floor postures coax a movement of Chi throughout the body setting the ground for deep relaxation or a meditative state.
